1. Why buy Angie's Tempeh Bak Kwa?
Angie’s Tempeh Bak Kwa is 100% handcrafted and made in Singapore. We are the first of its kind launching a vegan Tempeh Bak Kwa and every single process of this delicious CNY snack is made using methods that we painstakingly came up with ourselves after more than one year’s work of non-stop R&D. We are constantly working to improve the recipe, and going further to even win a competition prize at Asia’s Great Snack Challenge.
Tempeh is jam-packed with rich prebiotics that promote digestive health and nutritious high protein, low carb content. The Tempeh Bak Kwa is formed after slow culturing soybeans into a tempeh, then marinated with our special in-house vegan Bak Kwa sauce. After that, it is barbecued and aburi-ed to perfection to include the caramelised crunch bits, bringing about the same texture and familiarity that meat-based Bak Kwa offers.
Our Tempeh Bak Kwa was featured on various media and was sold out for CNY 2021. Currently, we have over a waitlist of almost 2,000 orders for 2022 CNY.

2. Is the Tempeh Bak Kwa vegan?
Yes, the recipe is vegan and 100% free from animal products. This year we have taken one step further to exclude honey from our recipe such that animal-free products are used.

No, it is not halal certified.
4. Is the Tempeh Bak Kwa allium-free?
Yes, it is allium-free (no garlic and onions).

7. How is Tempeh Bak Kwa made?
Angie’s Tempeh Bak Kwa is formed after slow culturing soybeans into a tempeh, then marinated with our special in-house vegan Bak Kwa sauce. This is a plant-based version of the all-time favourite Singaporean jerky made with Soybean tempeh. Tempeh is jam-packed with rich prebiotics that promote digestive health with is nutritious with its high protein and low carb content. My customers has told me that they love their Angie’s Tempeh Bak Kwa as much as the traditional Bak Kwa made from meat!

Can I add a gift message? Yes, all Tempeh Bak Kwa comes in a specially designed gift box. Add on your gift message upon making your pre-order and we will ensure that the message is included upon delivery.
10. Why do I need to pre-order SO EARLY in advance?
The Tempeh Bak Kwa is handcrafted in Singapore, which is highly time consuming. As Angie’s Tempeh is still a growing business, we are trying to better plan our resources and production in order to meet our customers’ orders.
In 2021, our Tempeh Bak Kwa sold out in 2 weeks, with a waitlist of almost 2,000 orders.
11. Can I self pickup my Tempeh Bak Kwa orders?

Unfortunately, delivery beyond Singapore is not available at the moment.
14. Will you sell the Tempeh Bak Kwa outside of Chinese New Year period?
Angie’s Tempeh Bak Kwa is handcrafted in Singapore, which is highly time consuming. We will only make this once a year for the CNY festive season.
15. Why are there only slots for pre-order up until 15 Jan 2022?

16. What if I want to book a slot nearer to CNY at 1 February 2022
We will slowly releasing new slots later in the upcoming months, follow our instagram page @angiestempeh for the latest updates. However, as Tempeh Bak Kwa are limited in stocks, pre-order early to secure your orders. For slots between 1-15 Jan, stand to enjoy early bird pricing. Thereafter, slots closer to 1 Feb will be at full price at $68.
