A limited run of a new flavour tempeh 😃
It's Black Bean with Green Kernel Tempeh 有機青仁黑豆天贝
This sort of black bean is commonly used to boil Chinese herbal soups. We dehulled the beans and left the green kernels exposed such that the tempeh culture can more easily ferment the beans.
Enjoy!
Ingredients
Organic black bean with green kernal, culture (Rhizopus oligosporous), filtered water
Delivery
Free delivery for orders above $50. Islandwide delivery at $8 for orders below $50.
Storage and Handling
Angie recommends cooking the tempeh within 1 week from delivery, storing it in the chiller at 0-4°C.
For longer storage, pop the tempeh in the freezer (-12°C and below). Thaw the tempeh in the chiller for 1-2 hours and cook it immediately after.

Creative take on fusing soya beans and black together in a tempeh. Looks can be deceiving with some portions blackened due to the black beans, however, the aromatic fragrance and the sweetness of the black and yellow beans will win you over. There is a disclaimer. For those who don't like black beans may consider their soya and red together. Their taste is sweeter. I vote for both flavours, hands down.
Love all your varieties, and my favourite is Black Bean with Green Kernel Tempeh!! 💖💕
Love all your tempehs. Very fresh and delicious. Definitely very different compared with those purchased at the supermarkets. After taking your tempehs, I stopped buying from supermarkets.
Thank you Pat :) Words like these encourage me to continue on making tempeh!
Was not sure about Tempeh but yours is really amazing!
I am totally a convert now. Black bean is my fav food and
you made it so nutritious, delicious and versatile. Thank you
for these wonderful handmade tempehs with love & quality.
Black bean better than Soy Bean Tempeh. The tempeh texture becomes better and less crumbly after a week. Had tried all 5 types. My top 3 favourites are Quinoa, Chickpeas and Black beans !
